Fila opens its first store in Mumbai
Italian sports brand Fila has entered the financial capital of India with its first heritage flagship store in the city of Mumbai.
The new store is located in the shopping district of Kala Ghoda at Fort and is spread over an area of 1,400 square-feet. The store will house Fila’s latest Heritage Autumn/Winter 2018 collection, along with sports apparel, footwear, and accessories.
After Mumbai, Fila is looking to open flagship stores in the top cities of the country to expand its retail footprint.
Talking about the store launch, MD of Cravatex Brands Ltd, Rohan Batra in a statement said, “We are happy to launch our store at one of the most iconic locations in the city. From our humble beginnings in Biella, Italy, Fila has amassed a heritage of over 100 years that integrates well with this venue. It distinctively complements the brand’s values and defines its personality.
“A first of many to come, we hope for this store to set the precedent as we continue to firmly dig our heels into the sports fashion segment in India, he added.
Mumbai-based Cravatex Brands has the license to sell Fila products in India and other South Asian countries.
Apart from its exclusive stores, Fila retails in the country through 250-plus large format stores such as Shopper's Stop, Lifestyle, Central and is also available of leading e-commerce platforms in the country.
