The fifth edition of the India Rough Gemstone Sourcing Show has kicked off in Jaipur and will run for three weeks to bring together businesses and showcase emeralds from Zambia.

“I am happy that we are organising the fifth India Rough Gemstones Sourcing Show, ensuring there is constant supply of good quality gemstones for our sector,” said Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council chairman Colin Shah, the GJEPC reported on its website. “We will be happy to organise more such exhibitions for the companies interested, as we would like to connect with mining companies and countries to directly source rough gemstones.”
The event features an assortment of rough emeralds displayed by the Gemfields-owned Kagem Mining Company Limited from Zambia. The business operates the world’s single largest producing emerald mine in Zambia’s Ndola Rural Emerald Restricted Area.
The opening ceremony of the event was attended by dignitaries including assistant customs commissioner Anupama Saksena, convener Synthetic Stones, Costume Fashion Jewellery and Sales to Foreign Tourists B N Gupta, Gemfields Group director Adrian Banks, and Gemfields India director Gopal Kumar, among others.
The India Rough Gemstone Sourcing Show runs from March 15 to April 2 in Jaipur, a city famous for its gemstone trade. The event is designed to boost sales, create networking opportunities to bring together suppliers, wholesalers, and buyers, and showcase industry trends.
