Following on from its inaugural edition in Jaipur in December last year, Feronia Fashion Night chose to host its second edition in Goa this weekend. Celebrating gender diversity, the event welcomed both designers and models from India and abroad to express their creativity in an inclusive environment.

Designer Hoshigoru William showed a collection at the event’s first edition in Jaipur and returned to showcase another swimwear and resort collection, fresh from the runway at Singapore Fashion Week. Other participating designers included Padma Raj Keshri from Ahmedabad, known for working with textile clusters across India. Anurag Manju Gupta also showcased a collection and next gen designers Riyanshu and Lakshika Swami also participated.

Samarpan Maiti, 2018 winner of LGBT pageant Mr. Gay World India, walked the runway and the event was chaired by the actor Samir Soni. A number of transgender models participated. The event wass sponsored by Simba Beer, Repechage, and Nutriva.

“We truly believe that we should work together as human rather than discriminating them on based on colour and sexuality,” said the event’s organiser Neha Balla. The event aimed to promote diverse designers and break stereotypes present in Indian society, Balla said.
