Feat. Artists launches website to expand creative services

The nascent fashion and art networking platform for the Indian subcontinent Feat. Artists has recently launched a dedicated website as it continues to expand its capacities.

Feat. Artists was launched by fashion consultant Nikhil D and former model Smita Lasrado as a modelling agency in June 2018 on Instagram. A year on, the collective has launched its own website and expanded its categories to include photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, graphic designers, and visual artists as well as a diverse array of models.

The new website has sections for “male”, “female”, and “trans” models and features transgender Nepali model and trans-rights activist Anjali Lama, with her recent campaign for Calvin Klein featuring on the site’s homepage. Feat. Artists also represents models with diverse looks including Radhika Nair and Kangkan Rabha who have both worked internationally. The website also displays a range of creative projects the business has worked on with fashion names including GQ, Vogue, Gucci, Platform, and Elle.

“The country is so vast and diverse, and definitely needs more representation for the models in the market,” Lasrado told Vogue India about her aims for the platform. Lasrado added that the site aims “to create an online space where these individuals could seamlessly work together,” to facilitate creative projects in the industry. 

“We used Instagram to promote the models and book jobs as well, which turned out to be a successful way of working,” Nikhil D told Vogue India. “However, we wanted to have a complete portfolio of all the models in one place so that it was easy to share. We also wanted to create a go-to platform for brands and designers, where everything from the design of the campaign for Instagram, their website, printed books, hoardings and even mailers all looked the same to the client.”
