FDCI launches sixteenth edition of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour with S&N by Shantnu Nikhil, Amit Aggarwal, T-shirt exhibition
The Fashion Design Council of India has launched the sixteenth edition of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour in Hyderabad. The fashion week kicked off with a runway show by S&N by Shantnu Nikhil followed by one by Amit Aggarwal. The event also features an interactive t-shirt exhibition.
S&N by Shantnu Nikhil presented a preppy, sportswear inspired collection on the runway to kick off the fashion week on Wednesday, the FDCI announced on Facebook. With tennis style separates and mixed with drapes and more streetwear style garments, the collection was youthful and wearable.
Amit Aggarwal was next on the bill and showcased a classic occasion wear collection with architect Nuru Karim on December 1. With voluminous evening dresses and lashings of sparkle, the collection explored the theme ‘Pride in Sustainable Fashion’. Bollywood celebrity Janhvi Kapoor turned showstopper for the designer and walked the runway in a tangerine lehenga featuring subtle glitter and youthful details.
The event has also launched an exhibition this season. “Introducing an exciting new element in this year’s Fashion Tour that is the ‘Style Gallery’ called ‘This is not a T-shirt’, curated by Ashish Soni and FDCI — an exhibit of T-shirt outfits designed by over 60 designers and homegrown fashion labels, who have embellished or even deconstructed the basic T-shirt into a design celebrating their authentic interpretation of Pride,” the FDCI announced on Facebook. “The Style Gallery exhibit was constructed with undertones of sustainability, using recycled materials which puts into action the Fashion Tour’s pursuit towards becoming more sustainable and eco-friendly.”
The exhibition also featured a segment titled ‘Step into the Metaverse’. The booth enabled visitors to interact with exciting features of ’Blenders Pride Glassware Fashion Tour Park’, the Fashion Tour’s metaverse avatar.
