The Fashion Design Council of India has held a number of model auditions across Indian metros to search for diverse faces for its upcoming edition of Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week in New Delhi.

With the slogan ‘Get Noticed’, the FDCI has traveled around India to shortlist models for its upcoming event LMIFW, the organisation announced on Facebook. On February 11, the INIFD conducted a model search for male and female models in New Delhi and shortlisted 35 men from over 400 applicants. A group of 15 women was also selected from over 200 applicants, as the INIFD searched for models with unique looks.
FDCI president, Sunil Sethi, and other industry names made up the judges panel who were looking outside the usual parameters of slim, young, and tall. For its upcoming edition, LMIFW aims to increase diversity and representation through its runway models.
The FDCI also held a model search in Mumbai on February 7 and some of the shortlisted models received goods from the fashion week’s title sponsor Lotus Herbals. The FDCI has also held model auditions in Kolkata.
The upcoming edition of LMIFW will take place from March 11 to 15 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. The fashion week will feature a ‘Designer Stockroom’ brand pop-up shopping event, ‘The Pearl Portfolio’ Pearl Academy student designer showcase, and a multitude of events under the event’s theme ‘Fashion Wears Art’.
