FDCI announces winners of The Showcase design challenge with Blender's Pride
The Fashion Design Council of India and Blender’s Pride Fashion Tour announced the winners of its design challenge to seek out up-and-coming fashion talent ‘The Showcase’, which included designer Naushad Ali.
The winning team, team four, consisted of designer Naushad Ali; model Ishpreet Kaur; content creator Urbashi Choudhury; and photographer Tanay Babbar, the FDCI announced on Facebook. As per the contest, the team used donated luxury clothing to rework it into a new outfit complete with a photoshoot and art direction.
The winning team created a fashion mini-film in an icy landscape. Kaur wore a slate grey, silver, and black ensemble with bold appliqué details and an oversized fit. The aesthetic was modern, in touch with nature, and poetic.
The winning team now have the chance to take part in the upcoming season of fashion roadshow Blender’s Pride Fashion Tour. The contest also announced a team as first runners up including designer Ada Malik, and a team as second runners up including designer, Sreegokul Viswanath.
With the theme ‘My Planet, My Pride’, ten teams were tasked with working together to create an innovative look and photo shoot around the concepts of innovation and sustainability. Each team worked with a mentor and conceptualised their project from clothing, to the model, to the photography and the content creation.
