For the FDCI and Blenders Pride Fashion Tour’s 2021 edition of design contest, The Showcase, they are encouraging creatives to innovate sustainable fashion solutions, the FDCI announced on Facebook. For the contest, 10 teams will work together to create a full fashion look and photoshoot and compete to win the chance to take part in the upcoming edition of fashion show Blenders Pride Fashion Tour.

The 10 teams each consist of a designer, photographer, model, and content creator. Each team has received mentoring from industry professionals including designers Amit Aggarwal and Anju Modi on how to reuse, repurpose, and recycle garments, donated by 60 leading Indian fashion designers, and how to create an editorial fashion shoot.

“Blenders Pride Fashion Tour has been conceived to become one of India’s leading platforms to discover talent across four categories: fashion designers, models, shutterbugs, and content creators,” Blenders Pride Fashion Tour announced on its website.

“Charting a unique course, The Showcase will catapult the journey of the aspirants, giving them a platform to exhibit their creative expression with pride. Redefining their career path, the winning talent will stand a chance to showcase their work in the next edition of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour.”

Jury members who will choose the 2021 winners include FDCI chairman Sunil Sethi; couturier Gaurav Gupta; and actress, designer, and model, Neha Sharma, among others. The initiative aims to promote sustainable fashion and the FDCI is also sharing tips on how to reuse clothing as part of the promotions for The Showcase.
