Fashion designer Prathyusha Garimella found dead in Hyderabad apartment

Fashion designer Prathyusha Garimella, was found dead in her Hyderabad apartment and a police case has been registered in Banjara Hills due to suspicious circumstances surrounding the event. 

Garimella was found dead on June 11 and is suspected to have died by suicide, Asian News International reported. Garimella’s death was categorised as suspicious as she was found in a bathroom with a carbon monoxide cylinder in the adjacent bedroom, Pink Villa reported. Garimella’s body has been taken to Osmania hospital for a periodic medical inspection and a further police probe will be carried out. 

As well as running her eponymous traditional and occasion wear brand, Prathyusha Garimella was also the founder of and designer for menswear brand Keya, which she launched in 2019. The designer counted numerous actors and celebrities among her clientele and had run a fashion studio in Banjara Hills. 

The designer’s brand had continued to post on its Facebook page with photos of its latest designs up until the weekend. The page has not been updated since reports of the designer’s death were published. A number of the designers friends, including entrepreneur Upasana Kamieni Konidela, have taken to Twitter to mourn their loss.
