Fashion Colloquia 2020 celebrates Khadi with runway show

The third edition of seminar event Fashion Colloquia launched in Jaipur on January 26 and celebrated handloom textiles with a Khadi Fashion Show and panel talk on textile heritage.

International research colloquium Colloquia 2020, which runs from January 26 to 30, kicked off with a fashion show, Indo-Asian News Service reported. The event showcased handloom Khadi textiles at the historic location of Ganesh Pol at Amer Fort to celebrate the history and artistry of the textile.
 
On January 27, the event presented a talk on 'Textile Heritage: Stories of Change and Shared Futures', which took part in conjunction with the Jaipur Literature Festival at Hotel Diggi Palace. The talk featured London College of Fashion professor Ian King, Etsy managing director Himanshu Wardhan, and the European Network on Cultural Management’s former president professor Annick Schrame.

On January 28, womenswear brand Raw Mango’s founder Sanjay Garg spoke on spoke on fashion with Upasana’s Uma Prajapati. A sustainable and future-focused fashion show for ARCH design students also took place and saw students reinterpret Khadi textiles for the modern world as part of the show.
 
The theme of Fashion Colloquia’s 2020 edition is 'Heritage, Stories of Change, Our Shared Future' and the event has drawn an audience of international academics and fashion industry names. The last two days fo the event will feature research paper presentations, panel discussions, and a number of field trips to locations including BagruTexcraft Park.
