The company will invest around Rs 15 crore ($1.8 million) to Rs 18 crore on its retail expansion and focus on tier 2, 3 towns to fuel its growth. Madame has opened more than 20 stores in tier-II towns in the last 12 months.

“With the focus on West, South and Northeast regions of India for expansion, we are planning to open 30 stores in the next 2 years. The investment would vary between Rs 50- Rs 60 lakh per store,” Akhil Duggar Jain, executive director of Madame told Financial Express.

“Today our biggest growth markets are tier 2 and tier 3 cities as the aspirations of the customers in these cities are no different from those in the larger cities. These regions contribute to 30-35 percent of the overall sales for us,” Jain added.

Entrepreneur CL Duggar Jain launched Madame in 1993 as a western wear brand. The brand manufactures its clothing in Ludhiana and currently has over 150 exclusive brand outlets across the country, as well as a presence in over 700 multi-brand stores and e-commerce platforms.
