Faraz Manan to hold couture presentation in Dubai
Couturier Faraz Manan will hold a fashion show at Dubai’s Bulgari Yacht Club and present around 35 pieces to a black-tie audience as the designer aims to boost the brand’s international presence.
“My last fashion show was nearly three years ago in Dubai, the one where Kareena [Kapoor Khan] walked for me,” Manan told Vogue India. “Now that most people are vaccinated it is time to accept the reality and move on– and that means it is time again for fashion shows. Everyone wants to move on, especially in our industry.”
Manan’s upcoming collection will focus on, “heirloom classic fashion,” according to the designer, in response to the revived client focus on both quality and luxury alongside the trend for more intimate weddings. “This collection has my signature metallics,” said Manan. “Fusion has always been my mantra and over time have become more fun, funky, and young if I may say so. However, all the clothes have been designed as forever pieces.”
The brand recently released its 2022 bridal and menswear collection featuring jewel-encrusted lehengas and equally embellished sherwanis, it announced on Facebook. The collection also features fusion style looks including a bralet, cape, and trouser set recently modelled by Bollywood celebrity Alia Bhatt.
Faraz Manan hails from Lahore, Pakistan and retails his opulent couture from his eponymous brand’s flagship store in Dubai, which he opened six years ago. Manan also opened an all new atelier in Lahore in December, 2021. The store is situated in a palatial residence complete with while pillars and chandeliers.
