FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week announces young designer initiatives for October fashion week

As the Fashion Design Council of India x Lakme Fashion Week Gears up for its October edition, the joint fashion week has announced that it will feature a number of initiatives to promote both up-and-coming designers and sustainable fashion on the runway.

Ahead of the fashion week, sponsor Nexa launched a design contest with the aim of finding up-and-coming creatives by asking them to submit artwork with the theme ‘Avant Garde’. The contest called for artists to submit their artwork for the chance for it to feature on exclusive fashion week merchandise and win a cash prize, Lakme Fashion Week announced on Instagram
 
The Indian Institute of Fashion Design aims to amplify the voices of young designers with its INIFD Corporate Launchpad thus season. A select number of up-and-coming fashion and interior designers will present their designs on the runway as part of the fashion week with the aim of kickstarting their careers, Lakme Fashion Week announced on Facebook. 

The Woolmark Company has joined forces with FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week this season to launch Rise Worldwide’s ‘Impact Hub’. The sports and lifestyle business of Reliance Industries will be showcasing innovation in sustainable fashion during the fashion week calendar. 
 
Other businesses which will be involved in the fashion week include keyboard brand Logitech and textile brand Tencel among others. Sustainable textile R-elan will also continue its five-year strong partnership with the fashion week this season.
