“The most coveted event of the fashion calendar since 2008, FDCI India Couture Week is back,” the FDCI announced on Facebook. “It has all the makings of a blockbuster- twinkling stars, innovative ideas and unbridled elegance. We are celebrating, dedication to craft with leading couturiers, as ICW is back to raise a toast to its 15th year, with a physical event, in the capital, this July. Join us on this embellished journey, as we open another chapter with design mavericks from all over the country.”

The FDCI launched India Couture Week in 2008 in Mumbai and its maiden edition featured designers Anamika Khanna, Ashish Soni, JJ Valaya, Manav Gangwani, Manish Malhotra, Pallavi Jaikishan, Ritu Kumar, Rohit Bal, Suneet Varma, Tarun Tahiliani, and Varun Bahl. Over the years, the event has helped to establish the careers of numerous Indian couturiers, some of whom have also gone on to showcase their collections internationally.

The FDCI will announce participating designers in the run up to the event. While ICW will take place in the capital this summer, the next joint edition of FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week will take place in Mumbai from October 12 to 16 this year, following on from its previous season in New Delhi.
