FDCI postpones LMIFW amid coronavirus concern

The Fashion Design Council of India has decided to postpone its upcoming Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week on March 5, due to concerns of the coronavirus spreading in New Delhi.

The FDCI announced that LMIFW is postponed on March 5 after announcing the show schedule on March 3 - Fashion Design Council of India- Facebook

 
The upcoming autumn/winter 2020/ 2021 season of LMIFW has been officially postponed by organiser, the FDCI, as the spread of the coronavirus begins to affect the Indian fashion industry. As of Thursday afternoon, 30 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in India.
 
“With due regard to the growing concerns around the spread of COVID-19 virus in New Delhi and keeping in mind, the health and safety of our fraternity (including members, guests traveling from across the globe and support teams), Fashion Design Council of India has decided to postpone Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week in association with EbixCash to a later and more appropriate date,” The FDCI announced on Facebook on March 5.

“We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused, but trust you understand the sensitivity of the situation.”
 
The statement was made by FDCI president Sunil Sethi, the FDCI Board of Governors, and the FDCI Team. The statement comes just over a day after the FDCI announced the official show schedule for the five-day fashion week
 
LMIFW was scheduled to take place from March 11 to 15 at the Jawaharlal Stadium in New Delhi. No new dates have been released yet.
