The FDCI will launch a series of digital sessions, podcasts, and articles on the current and evolving state of the Indian fashion industry in response to the coronavirus crisis, the organisation announced on Facebook. The series aims to educate those on the industry on how to deal with the current situation and discuss how to approach the future.

“FDCInsights will address pertinent questions about the constantly evolving world and business of fashion in these unprecedented times through a series of digital sessions, podcasts and articles,” the FDCI announced on Facebook on Saturday.

“We aim to share insights from industry members for a common goal of getting through this together.”

The FDCI has already pledged financial aid to designers and up-and-coming fashion brands through its Covid-19 Support Fund. The organisation has partnered with a number of entities including IMG Reliance Lakmé Fashion Week and Lotus Make-Up and will provide support, remaining flexible to industry demands, the FDCI announced on Facebook.

Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani praised the FDCI for its Covid-19 Support Fund in a recent video message.

“The Indian Fashion fraternity is the pride of the Indian textile industry,” said Irani in a video shared on Instagram.

“Today those who weave dreams on to a cloth are weaving together a support group. My gratitude to the Fashion Design Council of India, ably led by Sunil Sethi, for coming up with the Covid-19 fund.”
