Estée Lauder Companies and Nykaa announce Beauty&You new business award winners

Estée Lauder Companies and Nykaa have announced the winners of joint incubator initiative Beauty&You. The programme, designed to discover and propel the next generation of Indian beauty brands, awarded funding to three up-and-coming beauty businesses: Skinvest, Bahut Beauty, and Yaan Man.

“The debut edition of our program has witnessed stellar response from new and emerging brands,” said Nykaa’s CEO of E-commerce Beauty Anchit Nayar in a press release. “From tapping science and nature to impeccable consumer insight, the entries and finalists showed us the immense potential of beauty brands in India who are gearing up to win consumer's hearts. This is only the beginning of this journey with the new generation of beauty entrepreneurs in India and we are looking forward to building the future of beauty together.”
 
Over 300 brands from 50 Indian cities entered the contest in July this year, with products spanning skin care, hair care, fragrance, and colour cosmetics and 95% of applicants having sustainable practices in place. The Estée Lauder Companies and Nykaa shortlisted 10 businesses for the final of the initiative and announced the winners at an awards ceremony in New Delhi. 

Brands Skinvest, Bahut Beauty, and Yaan Man were chosen to receive funding of $150,000, $75,000, and $5,000 respectively as well as support from the Beauty&You programme. The jury included fashion designer and entrepreneur Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Bollywood actress and beauty brand founder Katrina Kaif among others. 
 
“We are so proud of all the finalists who each represented a unique vision for beauty in India and beauty for modern consumers everywhere,” said The Estée Lauder Companies’ senior vice president of New Incubation Ventures Shana Randhava. “The three winners– Skinvest, Bahut Beauty, and Yaan Man– crafted concepts and businesses that inspired and excited us as to what the future of our industry holds. We look forward to working with them to support their groundbreaking ideas.”
