Estée Lauder appoints Israel Assa as global president of travel retail
On May 1, Israel Assa will become the global president of travel retail for the American cosmetics group Estée Lauder, which owns Le Labo and Tom Ford Beauty, as well as its namesake Estée Lauder brand. This promotion comes after Olivier Bottrie announced that he will leave his position on June 30 to retire.

The president of Estée Lauder’s travel division will be based in New York and will report to Peter Jueptner, the cosmetics brand’s international president.
Assa has previously worked for Annick Goutal and Revlon before joining the Estée Lauder group 21 years ago, where he has remained to this day. He will now be responsible for the travel retail market segment, which in 2021 represented 28% of Estée Lauder’s sales.
Javier Simon will succeed Assa as President of Estée Lauder’s travel retail division in the Asia Pacific region.
The Estée Lauder Group reported sales of $5.54 billion in the second quarter of its fiscal year, from September to December.
