Estée Lauder partners with Nykaa, MAC goes online in India

ELCA Cosmetics, the wholly owned subsidiary of Estée Lauder, has associated with India's leading online beauty store Nykaa to launch its international beauty brands.

With the association MAC, a leading brand of professional cosmetics has gone online in India for the first time exclusively on Nykaa.com with Bobbi Brown expected to follow in January 2017, Nykaa stated.

"The Estée Lauder Companies India and MAC Cosmetics are delighted to partner with Nykaa.com. MAC is the prestige make-up leader in India and we are pleased to have further expanded our consumer reach to all our aspiring MAC consumers across India," said Rohan Vaziralli, General Manager and Country Head, India, Estée Lauder Companies in a statement.

Nykaa is looking to cash in on growing luxury beauty market in India by associating with international companies and expects a 10 percent growth in luxury beauty sales next year.

"There is an increasing premiumisation in our customers' beauty picks... [The customers] are not afraid to make the extra investment in their beauty regime," said Falguni Nayar, CEO & founder of Nykaa.

Nykaa’s growth has tripled over the past year, and is currently on a revenue run rate in excess of Rs300 crores. In 2016, Nykaa raised a total of 104.3 crores through private equity and the family offices of India's leading CEOs.
