Texvalley, which is currently a textile wholesale trading centre located in Erode, Tamil Nadu, will be developed into a mall with large format stores, the business announced on June 3 on Facebook. The business has designated around four lakh square feet within the Erode complex to this project and aims to launch a multiplex, 500-seat food court, and hypermarket in the retail space to draw customers.

“The grand makeover is in alignment with our vision of promoting the business of our customers and boosting the experience of our visitors,” said Devarajan C, Erode Textile Mall Private Limited’s vice chairman, the Press Trust of India reported. “Since inception, we have set several new benchmarks in the textile industry in India. The new Texvalley as South India's only B2B and B2C integrated destination mall is in line with global retail trends. We expect that there will be a symbiotic relationship between B2B and B2C segments thus boosting business, enhancing customer experience and future proofing the asset.”

The project will create 2,000 direct job opportunities in the area as well as 15,000 indirect jobs. The retail space will also branch out from textiles to include other lifestyle products.

“The footfall of Texvalley is expected to grow multifold from about 60,000 visitors a month to over five lakh business people, consumers, and tourists in the next two years,” said Erode Textile Mall’s managing director P Raajashekar, ET Bureau reported.

Texvalley is owned by Erode Textile Mall Private Limited and promoted by Lotus Group and construction firm URC Group. The Ministry of Textiles initiated the Texvalley project.
