English Colours to open flagship store, expand across India
Nov 27, 2018
English Colours will open its first ever flagship store in Thrissur this December. The brand will also expand its clothing business from wholesale to incorporate retail with a new distribution network.

Abbas Addhara, the founder of English Colours, told EO India that he is in the process of taking his clothing brand from a wholesale major to a customer-facing retailer. As part of this retail strategy, the brand will open its first ever flagship store in Thrissur next month. A total of five store openings are planned by the end of the current financial year.
The brand is also working on engaging directly with customers through social media. Addhara told EO India: “It’s easy these days with social media. Our Instagram page is a testimony for the brand’s reach and connection with customers. Opportunity in the e-commerce space is humungous.”
English Colours is working with North India- based distributors to build up a network in the area. The aim is to eventually build up a network of exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) across India. Talks with e-commerce platforms are also in progress.
The brand, which is based in Bengaluru, has its main wholesale network in South India with outlets in Bengaluru itself as well as Cochin and Calicut. The brand started by manufacturing export orders for brands such as Pepe Jeans and John Holdon before starting its own private label.
