Emami Ltd Q4 net profit down 60 percent to Rs 142 crore

Emami Ltd reported a 60 percent decline in net profit to Rs 142 crore ($17.2 million) for the quarter ended March 2023, as against Rs 354 crore posted in the same quarter last year.

The company’s revenue for the quarter rose by 8 percent to Rs 836 crore, as against Rs 768 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
For the full financial year, the company's revenue was Rs 3,406 crore with a net profit of Rs 627 crore.
Commenting on the results, Harsha V Agarwal, vice chairman managing director of Emami Ltd in a statement said, “Despite challenging demand scenario on account of high inflation, muted rural sentiments, and unseasonal rains, we have delivered a resilient profit led growth in Q4FY23.”
“Our strategic investments and Dermicool acquisition have performed well and contributed to this growth. We will continue to make significant investments behind our core brands, innovations, channel expansions and digital optimisations which are expected to contribute immensely to future growth,” he added.
Emami is one of India’s leading fast moving consumer goods companies with brands such as Navratna, BoroPlus, Fair & Handsome, Zandu Balm, Mentho Plus and Kesh King among others.
