Electronic wearable technology to be seen at LFW

‘ElektroCouture and Friends’ will debut and showcase bespoke innovative electronic wearable technology at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 on March 30, 2016.




“Berlin based ElektroCouture, is a collaborative house for bespoke technologies along with six other international designers from various countries like London, Canada, California,” a LFW press release revealed.

Integrating technologies into design, accessories, couture and also pret fashion, these designers have stepped into the future to find new ways of digitalizing environment and human body.

Some of their work comprises inventive battery systems to the latest in light technology, digital knitting and weaving and traditional hand processes to achieve radical shapes to 3D printing.

They also include sound reactive LEDs, motion and light sensors, mood technology, futuristic fabrics made from sustainable materials embedded with sensitive technologies.

They have also developed new materials and clothes that respond to the body itself, creating innovative, ready-to-wear fashion technology experiences.

“Wearable and washable, these gadget-garments are comfortable and stylish at the same time,” the press release said.

These labels use light technology the way other designers use colour or cut, with the vision of making light wearable, multifunctional and easy to wear while still being revolutionary by way of self-expression and style.

This collaborative collection of futuristic fashion showcase is one of the key highlights of the season; celebrating magic of technology combined it with the beauty of design.

Lisa Lang, ElektroCouture’s founder said, “We're very excited and grateful to partner with the Lakmé Fashion Week and show the future of fashion in a real-life context.”

“This is an amazing opportunity for designers and journalists in India to see what technology can do for us and how it can revolutionise the way we work and design in fashion,” Lang too added.
