Elan to hold saree exhibit in Ahmedabad

Elan will hold a saree exhibition from December 14 to 15 for luxury artisan brand Pankaj at its boutique in Ahmedabad. The showcase will feature a wide range of bespoke sarees and other occasion wear garments.

Pankaj’s exclusive collection preview event at Elan, Ahmedabad will give the city’s shoppers their first chance to browse the brand’s new collection, Elan announced on Facebook. The showcase is designed to offer brides to be, wedding guests, and party goers a wide selection of occasion wear options which mix artisanal textile and embellishment techniques from across India.

Sarees in the bespoke collection include Ektar, Gota, Kharra Mal, and Chikankari work among other traditional craft techniques. Intricately embroidered blouses feature alongside heavyweight sarees and floaty, metallic embellished shawls in deep jewel tones.

Pankaj aims to revive and celebrate India’s textile heritage while offering premium occasion wear, according to Elan. The brand works with embroiderers and weavers across India with the aim of producing museum quality heirlooms.

Elan also recently held a showcase to launch womenswear designer Gaurang Shah’s latest collection ‘Sindur’ in Ahmedabad. The traditional style occasion wear collection features bright hued sarees with metallic borders and sheer details with a classic, feminine aesthetic.
