Luxury clothing and textiles brand Ekaya has collaborated with jewellery brand Misho to release a collection of textile jewellery made with upcycled Ekaya Thaan fabric scraps and recycled Misho silver.

Ekaya and Misho’s collaborative collection, ‘Ekaya x Misho’, presents a modern take on tradition. From afar, the collection’s statement necklaces, rings, and earrings appear to house bright jewels but on closer inspection, these are remnants of textiles used in Ekaya’s womenswear collections.

Ekaya described the collection on its Facebook page as: “The ancient traditions of silversmithing from Gujrat meet the brocades of Banaras… bringing together beloved Indian traditions, a love of jewellery, and heritage textiles.”

“The collection is an ode to our age-old penchant for sustainability and upcycling and the crafts of India,” wrote Ekaya.

As the jewellery is made using fabric remnants, no two pieces are alike. By repurposing the fabric scraps, the brand aims to both reduce textile waste, a major source of global pollution, and give new life to these heritage handloom weaves.

The collection recently launched on Ekaya’s e-commerce store, where the brand also recently launched its new collection of rich brocade sarees and fusionnwear.

Misho has also recently collaborated with streetwear Bhaane on a sculptural and minimalist collection of gender-neutral jewellery.

The brand has launched both collaborative collections on its e-commerce store.
