Echoes of Earth festival promotes sustainable fashion with flea market

The Echoes of Earth music festival shone a spotlight on sustainable fashion with a flea market dedicated to up-and-coming fashion and lifestyle brands including Voi Jeans and No Borders on December 7-8.


No Borders set up shop in Bengaluru over the weekend to take part in Echoes of Earth - No Borders- Facebook


The Embassy International Riding School in Bengaluru hosted 24 fashion and lifestyle labels as part of the Echoes of Earth festival, the event announced on Facebook. At the event, UK-based denim brand Voi Jeans, which launched in India in 2011, retailed its selection of men’s jeans and denim clothing as well as casual wear such as joggers and hoodies.

New York and Mumbai-based concept store Non Borders presented a selection of curated vintage clothing at the flea market as well as art by Kultureshop and mehandi by Prableen Kaur. No Borders aimed use the pop-up to draw “attention to our very delicate wildlife ecosystem and interpreting its problems through the mediums of art and fashion,” the brand wrote on Instagram

Other participating brands included Urban Mali, The Earth Reserve, The Second Life, Earth Heart, Ti, Hosachiguru, Leafy Affair, Arture, Discovery, Kevali, Bare Necessities, Paper Heads, Lil Sherpa, Beat Hangovers Naturally, Kalasutr, Switch and Dryad.

As part of its aim to be the most sustainable music festival in India, Echoes of Earth pledged to plant a tree for every ticket sold in association with Hosachiguru. The festival also featured a food court, interactive art, and initiatives to promote green living.
