Ebay’s newest venture could be seen as the result of its multiple acquisitions. Named X.Commerce, the service platform brings together a full set of ground-breaking commerce capabilities that are mainly used for the creation of e-stores. Online payment company Paypal and mobile payment company Zong are some of the services from the eBay family that will come in the package.

Ebay’s goal is to offer small business all the technology needed to go into e-commerce and improve the consumer’s online shopping experience. Via its newest partnership with Facebook, X.Commerce will also offer retailers the tools to build f-commerce and to use the social network as a selling platform. Joining X.Commerce is free and only the use of certain services will be charged.

Ebay has more than 94 million users worldwide, who generated 62 billion dollars in merchandise volume in 2010. That year, the American company turned over 9.1 billion dollars.
