As Landmark Group’s value fashion brand Easybuy approaches a store-count of 100, the retailer plans to continue to open around 50 stores a year and begin expanding into North India and continue expansion in the east.

Easybuy’s main retail presence is in South India but the market is “not even ‘reasonably’ penetrated,” Easybuy’s senior vice president and business head, Anand Aiyer, told Images Retail in an interview. The brand aims to continue to open stores in South India until it has a store in every district headquarters.

The brand recently entered the East Indian market and opened three stores in Orissa and two in West Bengal. Easybuy will continue to build on its presence in the region and begin expanding into North India, according to Aiyer. The brand will expand with an average store size of 5,500 square feet.

“We will cross 100 stores in 2020 and aim to open 200 stores by 2022,” said Aiyer. “We are considering going omni, but very conscious of when and how. Omni will take shape through some of the key parameters such us our own offline presence, capabilities in terms of supply chain, technology etc. There is a roadmap that is being laid out to become a well-established name in the value fashion space. If that requires to become an omni-channel brand earlier than expected, we will move towards being one.”

Landmark Group launched Easybuy in 2014. The brand retails menswear, womenswear, and children’s wear as well as accessories.
