E-commerce platform ‘Rocking Deals’ plans massive offline expansion

Indian online marketplace for buying and selling of refurbished goods, Rocking Deals is all set to foray into the brick and mortar space with plans to open over 500 retail stores in a phased manner in five years.

The company is looking to expand its reach across India and will be opening up retail outlets to tap all major markets of smaller towns and cities.
 
Rocking Deals has already signed deals with various franchise partners in different states and is looking to capture a large share of the used goods segment with its offline expansion.

Commenting on its expansion plan, Yuvraj Aman Singh, founder & CEO of Rocking Deals in a statement said, “We have chalked out all round growth plan be it online or offline. With our new retail stores, the company plans to weed out inefficiencies, lack of certified products in the market, and under or overvaluation of pre-owned products. We would like to tap all major markets of smaller towns and cities through our offline market strategy.”
 
“We have received an encouraging response from across the country and already signed with 27 retail franchise from various states like Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab among others. By entering into the offline market, we are eliminating the multiple layers and involvement of third parties by directly connecting to our customers,” Singh added.
 
The second-hand market is on the rise in India—particularly in the area of clothing, footwear, and accessories. Indian e-commerce major Flipkart had also entered the market last year with the launch of an exclusive platform called ‘2Gud’.
 
Founded in 2012, Rocking Deals sells over 250 brands through its website and claims to have sold close to 4 million units in 18 types of categories of refurbished and pre-owned products.
