Dwayne Bravo's apparel brand to enter Indian market

West Indian cricketer Dwayne Bravo is all set to cash in on his popularity in India with the launch of his apparel brand ‘DJ Bravo 47’ in the lucrative Indian market.

The Cricketer who currently plays for IPL team Chennai Super Kings is a fan favorite in the country and is hoping his popularity will help his brand do well in the Indian market. DJ Bravo, as he is popularily known after his hit single 'Champion' co-owns the brand with Singapore-based celebrity apparel company 3 Big Dogs.

The star cricketer aims to sell over 200,000 units in a year and will feature in all promotional activities planned in metros like Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad in the coming months. 

Cornerstone Sports will be helping Bravo with the marketing and distribution of the brand in India.

The brand will intitially launch t-shirts for men, women and kids in the price range of Rs 1900 to Rs 2200 (approx $30 to $35) and later add track suits, hats and accessories to its product portfolio.

“I have my biggest fan base in India. There are more people here who love me and I wanted to share something which is very close to my heart too,” Bravo was quoted as saying by Economic Times.

“We are in talks with some large ecommerce platforms and a few organised retail players for selling products. Currently, the products are available online,” Luke Keech, MD, 3 Big Dogs said.

DJ Bravo 47 currently sells in Australia, South Africa, The Caribbean and the US. Bravo's brand will compete with a host of Indian cricket players like Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, K L Rahul among many others who all own fashion brands.
