Dr Barbara Sturm launches in India with Nykaa

German aesthetician Dr Barbara Sturm's eponymous brand has launched in India exclusively with Nykaa on the e-commerce platform’s ‘Global Store’ dedicated to international brands. 

Sturm’s ‘Molecular Cosmetics’ line went live on Nykaa on June 8, Falguni Nayar’s multi-brand retailer announced on Facebook.

“The Doctor is in,” Nykaa announced. “We are super delighted to introduce high performance, celebrity trusted skincare Dr Barbara Sturm in India, newly launched only at The Global Store on the Nykaa App.”

The launch includes products such as Darker Skin Tones Hyaluronic Serum, Face Cream, Glow Drops, and Face Mask. With its minimalist white packaging, products include ingredients such as purslane and grape seed oil.
 
“I began my medical practice in anti-inflammatory orthopaedics,” Sturm told Elle India about the inception of her brand which she launched in 2003.

“I later translated some of the scientific anti-inflammatory advances I helped pioneer in joints into skin and aesthetics… I started by injecting hyaluronic acid and botox, which provided great results, but I kept thinking that it would be a great additional anti-ageing booster for the skin if we also started mixing it with the body’s own anti-inflammatory healing factors like I did in orthopaedic medicine. The results, in the form of my ‘blood facial,’ lasted longer, and the skin benefited greatly from the additional healing power and anti-inflammatory proteins.”
