Door of Maai to preview LFW collection in Pernia's Pop-Up Shop, Juhu

Door of Maai will host a special preview today of its latest summer/ resort 2019 collection, fresh off the runway from Lakmé Fashion Week, at the Pernia’s Pop-Up shop in Juhu, Mumbai. 

On Feb. 7, Door of Maai will preview its latest collection for the first time since it was displayed on the runway on day two of Lakmé Fashion Week on January 31. The collection debuted at the Fashup by Fashion Revolution showcase on Sustainable Fashion Day and was supported by Lenzing AG.

The brand uses sustainable production methods and was inspired by the Victorian Era this season. The collection features a range of off white and sand hued sustainable textiles with ruffles and high-neck collars evocative of Victorian England. The brand’s designer, Pooja Gupta, played with volume and proportion to create looks that mix hints of traditional wear with antique western wear.

The preview event is free to all guests and is located at the Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop in the High Tide building on Juhu Tara Road, Mumbai. The event will run all day.

Pooja Gupta launched Door of Maai after studying at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and then the University For The Creative Arts in the UK. The brand also produces an up-cycled collection made from fabric remnants and export surplus which features one of a kind pieces and runs alongside the main collections. The brand also conducts sustainable fashion focused workshops under its branch DOM Socials.
