Dolce & Gabbana enters the real estate sector
Dolce & Gabbana is making its real estate debut with three large-scale operations on the American, European and Asian continents. The Italian luxury house's aim is to "reinforce the lifestyle vocation inherent in its DNA," it explains in a statement.
The label headed by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, which has a turnover of over one billion euros, has announced two residential projects in Miami in the United States and Marbella in Spain, as well as a hotel project in the Maldives in the centre of the Indian Ocean, which will be carried out with three different partners, one for each of the target territories.
In Miami, Florida, where the most prestigious names in luxury have been building exclusive towers and buildings for several years, Dolce & Gabbana has teamed up with JDS Development Group, a New York-based company specialising in property development and the construction of residential and hotel projects in New York and Miami.
In Spain, the brand has teamed up with Sierra Blanca Estates, one of the leading developers and real estate agencies of luxury homes in Marbella and the Costa del Sol. While for its first hotel project in the Maldives the brand has chosen to work with property developer Dar Global, a luxury real estate company of the Saudi group Dar Al Arkan, publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange and which already works with many luxury brands including Missoni, Elie Saab and Versace.
For the time being, Dolce & Gabbana is not giving further details about these three projects. But this diversification into real estate follows the typical path of most luxury players, helping to create a lifestyle universe around the brand. This new chapter comes after the creation in 2022 of its Beauty division and the launch of its home collections.
The brand is developing a line of accessories, tableware and textiles entirely produced in-house, as well as a line of furnishings managed under licence by Luxury Living Group. These two activities should logically be used in Dolce & Gabbana's new real estate projects.
