DMCC opens office in Mumbai to boost India-UAE trade

The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre has opened an office in Mumbai to strengthen trade ties between India and the UAE. The office will facilitate Indian businesses setting up in the DMCC and offer exclusively curated license packages for Indian businesses.

“The opening of our representative office in Mumbai is a significant milestone in our journey to deepen our ties with India,” said the DMCC’s executive chairman and CEO Ahmed Bin Sulayem, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported on its website. “India is a key strategic partner for DMCC and we are committed to supporting the growth of Indian businesses in Dubai and beyond.”
 
The DMCC Government of Dubai’s authority on commodities, trade, and enterprise and its new Mumbai office will be led by Siddharth Shah. The office is designed to encourage Indian businesses to set up in the DMCC, promoting it as an opportunity for strategic growth with the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.

“The opening of our representative office in Mumbai is the next pivotal step in this relationship’s evolution, demonstrating our deep commitment to business in India and across the subcontinent,” said Bin Sulayem. 
 
The DMCC recently conducted a Made for Trade Live trade roadshow in India at the beginning of the month. The roadshow was held in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry and took place in Mumbai, Surat, and Jaipur.
