DMart’s new space, located at Spaze Edge in Gurgaon’s Sector 47, will house the business’ full selection of personal care products, household items, and its line of value clothing for men, women, and children. The business expects the upcoming store to draw a footfall of between 2,000 and 2,500 per day, ET Retail reported.

“Household utility brands work well for the commercial spaces, and another fact is that these brands invest in places that can provide them with the right visibility and footfall,” said Spaze Group director Harpal Singh Chawla, the Economic Times reported. “So, the lease is a win-win situation for both of us. We are sure that the people of the area will benefit from such a big retail chain operating in their neighbourhood, easing out their worries of daily needs.”

The Spaze Edge development totals 3.5 lakh square feet across its two blocks. The project also has scalability options of up to 1.5 lakh square feet.

DMart opened its first brick-and-mortar store in 2002 and currently has a network of 238 stores across India. The business is headquartered in Mumbai and is placed in the value segment of the market.
