Diana Penty, Sidharth Malhotra walk for Robit Bal in Mumbai

On January 16, Rohit Bal unveiled his latest collection in Mumbai as part of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour and Bollywood celebrities Diana Penty and Sidharth Malhotra were the designer’s showstoppers. 

Prior to his latest runway show in Bandra Fort, Mumbai, designer Rohit Bal carried out a model hunt to select his runway team for the event. Bal and a group of judges invited hopefuls to try out for his show and the casting was aired as a Blenders Pride promotional video. Taking the theme of “my heritage, my pride”, Bal explained that he was looking for models that would carry his brand with pride on the runway. 

This season, Bal was inspired by Kashmir and floral motifs. The collection, which had the tag line “my heritage, my pride” saw Bal showcase his own take on Indian heritage. 

Malhotra closed the show, walking alongside Bal and Penty, in a long black Bandhgala evening coat embellished with golden animal motifs and appliqués.

Wearing opulent velvet slip-ons and a flowing drape over kurta trousers, Malhotra’s look was a new take on tradition. Penty also wore black with added red flowers adorning her lehenga look. Bal joined the pair in a black high-collar suit covered in matching red roses.
