Diamond manufacturer Shree Ramkrishna Exports receives ISO 24016 Certification

Surat-based diamond manufacturer Shree Ramkrishna Exports has received accreditation from Manchester-based ISO certification provider, Alcumus ISOQAR, for its natural diamond grading. 

 
SRK’s in-house grading system ‘SRK Grading System’ has been accredited with a ISO: 24016:2020 certificate by Alcumus ISOQAR making it the first business in the world to achieve this recognition, SRK announced, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported. The accreditation specifies the terminology, classification, and the methods used by SGS for the grading and description of single unmounted polished diamonds over 0.25 carat.
 
“With the ISO certification, we want to ensure that we ultimately improve upon what we do; to benefit our customers,” said a SRK representative, the GJEPC reported. “After months of work, SGS was developed successfully as per the standards, and appreciatively we succeeded in the first attempt. With our team’s continued dedication and customers’ valued feedback, we intend to keep upgrading and improving for the best.”

A virtual celebration was held on March 11 to recognise the accreditation. SRK shared that its SGS enabled the business to achieve 90% of its sales through online channels in 2020. The SGS grading process involves having a single diamond validated by six graders who asses all features before assigning the stone a grade.
