The business was awarded the title of greenest building by the Arc Leaders and Performers Platform for operational performance in minimising the environmental impact and committing to sustainability through LEED, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council announced on its website. SRK’s building was given a score of score of 95 out of points for sustainability with factors including energy and water consumption as well as waste management among others.

“Sustainably crafting diamonds has always been our motto, and we ensure to cause minimum environmental impact through our operations,” said SRK’s Arjanbhai Dholakia, the GJEPC reported on its website. “We can proudly claim that all our diamonds are crafted only in our environment-friendly green buildings. Reaching milestones like ranking on Arc leaders and performers platform is a testament to our promise for a sustainable tomorrow.”

SRK was named as one of the world’s top six environmentally buildings in October 2021. The building was inaugurated in 2011 and first achieved a LEED Gold rating in 2015. The facility employs close to 4,000 people.

“Innovation and sustainable infrastructure have been SRK’s core focus to serve the industry and inspire others with our best practices,” said Dholakia. “SRK Empire is a remarkable example of how a diamond crafting facility can reach the state of efficiency and sustainability.”
