From June 8 to 12, Diacolor displayed the record-breaking stone in its flagship store inside DLF Emporio. The emerald hails from Zambia and is valued at 5,655 carats. The stone was acquired by the brand at an auction by Gemfields where it was announced that the stone is the largest and most expensive rough emerald ever.

The brand acquired the emerald last year after it was discovered at the Gemfields Group’s Kagem mine. Rajkumar Tongya, part of the family-run business Diacolor, collects speciality gemstones from across the world in addition to creating fine jewellery.

Diacolor is currently run by third generation jeweller Rishabh Tongya, the business’ CEO. Rishabh Tongya has developed the family brand to scale it up significantly and was responsible for opening its DLF flagship store. Along with jewellery, the brand also creates speciality items such as diamond inlaid clutch bags.
