For the autumn/winter season of AIFW that ran from March 14 to 18 at New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Dhruv Vaish presented his latest collection on March 17. The collection was a modern take on smart casual wear for men and mixed more experimental tailored details with classic shapes.

Smart casual jackets were a main feature of the collection and textiles included checks and ginghams in lighter hues and wool for darker hues. The overall colour scheme was grey and black with pops of white and brown and texture was provided by different types of padding on some of the outwear and large, detailed pockets. Models wore black plastic construction wear style boots laced up with textured fabric and bags were pockets attached to belts. The models looked formal yet edgy which was the overall aesthetic of the collection.

Dhruv Vaish launched his eponymous label in 2009 as a men’s western and Indian wear label after working with a number of international designers including Calvin Klein and Diane Von Furstenburg. The brand has worked with the Woolmark Company for knitwear and also specialises in wedding attire. With a flagship store located in South Delhi, Dhruv Vaish also retails from a number of multi brand luxury boutiques.
