Dhi and Shruti Sancheti take delicate femininity to new heights at Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week

Womenswear brands Dhi and Shruti Sancheti presented their spring/summer 2019 collections in a joint showcase on day two of Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week in the capital and both favoured delicate silks and ethereal hues.

Dhi debuted its spring/summer 2020 collection on the runway at LMIFW in New Delhi on Thursday. Simple, loose-shaped garments presented a relaxed and effortless take on femininity and let the silk textiles truly shine. 

Floor-length shirt dresses, simple tops, wide-leg trousers, and paired-down jackets presented wearable wardrobe staples but their blush and pastel pink colour palette created a strong statement.

Models walked the runway as a projection of butterflies fluttered on the screen behind and Dhi showed that high octane femininity and mature elegance make for a happy marriage.

Shruti Sancheti presented a collection entitled “Orient Express” and described it as “elegant yet breezy resort wear” on the brand’s Facebook. The collection’s east Asian influence could clearly be seen with high neck, side-tie tops, wide-leg palazzos, and kimono-esque evening coats, as well as delicate cherry blossom embroidery.

The collection had a colour palette of pastel pink, white, and ivory, with sky blue and chocolate brown also making an appearance. Whimsical accessories including white frilly parasols and shoes with oversize bows added a coquettish charm to the looks and models wore natural, youthful makeup with ample amounts of pink blush.

Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week began on October 9 and runs until October 13 in New Delhi. Organised by the Fashion Design Council of India, the event’s theme this season is “My Fashion My Tribe”.
