Desikala shopping festival returns to Bengaluru

The handmade fashion and art fair Desikala will return to Bengaluru from July 5-14 at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath in Bengaluru. The shopping fair will highlight the work of handloom weavers and their textiles.

The events management business Gravity Eventful Affairs will host its fourth edition of Desikala as a social initiative to give artisans from across the country a platform from which to grow their businesses. The event, open to the public, will feature Bengaluru silk, silk zari sarees from Andhra Pradesh, Dhakai Jamdani from West Bengal, and Mangalgiri dress materials among many other handloom clothing and textile products.

The shopping festival will also include a number of handmade jewellery vendors for both traditional and tribal pieces. Other product categories that will feature include home décor, art, and craft items. 

Gravity Eventful Affairs organises a number of fashion and craft fairs in Bengaluru. The business hosted the third edition of Desikala in May and recently held the seventh edition of its Great Indian Flea event in Bengaluru from June 7-9. The Great Indian Flea event also focuses handcrafted Indian fashion and accessories and also has a strong focus on folk artwork.
