Desigual ended the first half of the year with a €451.9 million turnover, down 0,2% from its €452.9 million turnover recorded in the first half-year of 2014, said the company in a statement.

Desigual's sales fell by 5% in Spain in the first half-year - 080 Barcelona Fashion

The flat pace of growth during the first six months of 2015 show disparities between the countries where Desigual is present: sales in France and Spain fell by 4% and 5%, respectively, while Germany remained steady and the Italian market rose by 7%.

The Barcelona-based company highlighted its positive results in Asia and Latin America, where it posted a 24% and 36% sales rise in the first months until June. These results put into perspective the opportunities the company enjoys in terms of expansion in these areas.

Desigual's EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) reached €92,1 million, down 26% from its comparable results in 2014, which reflects the cost increase the brand had to suffer for its expansion plan added to the constant sales performance.

In this context Desigual said it plans to continue optimizing its store network and following its cost-efficiency plan.

The company headed by Thomas Meyer has begun to review its business plan with the aim of preparing its next phase of growth, which includes renewing the organization to enhance product innovation and optimizing the store network through relocations, closures and a limited number of openings.
