The upcoming edition of FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week will once again feature a mix of online and offline events due to the ongoing pandemic and the response to its previous edition, the Fashion Design Council of India announced on its Facebook page. The fashion industry organisation caught up with several designers scheduled to take part in the fashion week to ask them how they felt about the joint format.

“I believe that a unified fashion week allows for a greater traction to the designers and their clothes, than fragmented fashion shows and fashion weeks,” said designer Neeta Lulla, the FDCI reported on Facebook.

“It’s a great idea to have a unified fashion week especially when you have two great entities getting together and pulling in all the resources for the benefit of everyone in the industry,” said designer Manoviraj Khosla.

“When you have FDCI and Lakmé Fashion Week, powers like these coming together, it becomes a superpower,” said designer Kunal Rawal.

The FDCI also held its first ‘FDCInsights 3.0’ online discussion on January 27 featuring speakers including designers Amit Aggarwal, Namrata Joshipura, Nitin Bal Chauhan, Payal Jain, and Shantanu and Nikhil as well as model Lakshmi Rana.

The speakers discussed the topic “Will fashion films take a backseat if physical shows take prominence?” and shared their insights for the event which was broadcast on the FDCI’s website.
