Designer Masaba Gupta steps into voice acting
House of Masaba designer Masaba Gupta has stepped into voice acting and will star in the Audible Original Hindi-language podcast series ‘Marvel’s Wastelanders: Black Widow’.
In her new role, Gupta will play the character Lisa Cartwright and the series will run through 2023 and 2024, the India Times reported. The main character Black Widow will be voiced by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Ashish Vidyarthi will also lend their voices to the series.
“My baby is still my brand 'House of Masaba' and I spend 95% of the time there and now a beauty brand as well,” Gupta told the Press Trust of India in an interview. “I am unapologetically ambitious and at the same time I have the energy, time and the bandwidth, so why not do everything that I always wanted to do. In this [acting] space, I am having a lot of fun because my day job takes care of my expenses and runs my house. Acting is my joy, passion, hobby, my get away from the profit and loss, this is the holiday from that.”
The designer had made her acting debut in 2020 in the semi-autobiographical Netflix series ‘Masaba Masaba’. Gupta then starred in the Amazon Prime video series ‘Modern Love Mumbai’ before returning with a second season of Masaba Masaba.
