Designer Gaurav Gupta launches his jewellery label at India Couture Week
The designer showcased his couture collection "Undercurrent" which was accessorised with the jewellery pieces that included necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, and ear cuffs.
The jewellery pieces are handmade by the designer and are a combination of finely cut diamonds and white gold.
Bollywood actress Daina Penty was the showstopper for Gupta and walked the ramp in a mermaid gown accessorised with statement ear cuffs from Gaurav Gupta Occasions Fine Jewellery.
Speaking about his new venture, Gupta said: "I have wanted to launch couture jewellery for many years and this was the perfect moment to make the big announcement. This is true couture jewellery.”
Talking about his ‘Undercurrent’ collection, Gupta added, "The collection is a kind of Gatsby mixed with fantasy, at the same time fun and wearable. It's all very kind of progressive. The collection takes inspiration from endless waves; it is cosmic, fluid, sculptural yet boundless and eternal. It aims at decoding the human anatomy in fluid assemblage - from voluminously wide to tiered to perpendicularly slim and narrow silhouettes.”
The 12th edition of the India Couture Week concluded on Sunday with veteran designer Tarun Tahiliani collaborating with Swarovski for the closing show.
