Designer Rimzim Dadu designs exclusive car for Mahindra, showcases designs on runway

Fashion designer Rimzim Dadu has designed an exclusive car for automobile business Mahindra. The designer also presented a futuristic clothing collection on the runway at a fashion show by Mahindra to celebrate the launch. 

The Rimzim Dadu designed Mahindra bespoke XUV400 launched on November 29, Rimzim Dadu annonuced on Facebook. The car was created as a collaboration between Dadu and Mahindra’s chief design officer Pratap Bose. 
 
The exclusive car will be auctioned off on December 10 and the proceedings raised by its sale will be split equally amongst the winners of Mahindra’s first Sustainability Champion Awards, Autocar India reported. The car is a SUV and features custom textiles to enhance its interior. Copper stitching gives the feel of Dadu’s metal-look garments and the car has ‘Rimzim Dadu x Bose’ badging on the headrests and the rear armrest among other places.

Rimzim Dadu presented a sculptural collection of evening dresses and conceptual separates on the runway at the sixth season of Mahindra’s Tech Fashion Tour event, Mahindra announced on Facebook. With a jewel toned and metallic colour palette, the collection celebrated Dadu’s signature metal-look textiles. 
 
Rimzim Dadu launched her eponymous brand in 2007 and has dressed celebrities including Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Deepika Padukone among others. The brand retails from its dedicated e-commerce store and flagship store in Delhi’s DLF Emporio.
