The jewellery firm will invest and be a strategic partner in the design school which is named ‘Gurukul School of Design’ and hopes that graduates from the academy redefine the idea of good design and fills in the dearth of talent that currently exists in the jewellery segment.

The Gurukul School of design in Jaipur will offer a four year course covering all aspects of the fashion industry with courses on fashion design, illustration, business, management, communication, and marketing.

"It is a natural progression for Amrapali to support exciting endeavours that will redefine the idea of good design, generate good talent that has the potential to impact the world of design, especially jewellery," Rajiv Arora, co-founder, Amrapali, said in a statement.

“We wanted to create a forum where people with design understanding can contribute their ideas and demonstrate the power of this to greater sustained knowledge for upcoming students, who will metamorphosize into designers of tomorrow”, Rathore said in a statement.

"We need a revolution in how graduating students can change the landscape by bringing an entrepreneurial spirit with good understanding of design, while using local and global resources," Rathore added.

Raghavendra Rathore is a fashion designer and also works in wedding and event design, interior design, accessories, and jewellery. Amrapali is a leading jewellery brand based out of Jaipur with over 30 stores across India.
