Designer Masaba Gupta to star in Amazon series 'Modern Love Mumbai'

Designer and entrepreneur Masaba Gupta is turning her focus to acting and will star in the upcoming Indian version of Amazon Prime’s ‘Modern Love’ anthology titled ‘Modern Love Mumbai’. 

Gupta will star in one of the six love stories which will make up the Modern Love Mumbai streaming series, Eastern Eye reported. As one of the leads in ‘I Love Thane’, Gupta, who runs the fashion and lifestyle brand House of Masaba, will explore a fully fictional character for the first time in her career. 
 
This is not Gupta’s first time acting as the designer made her debut in ‘Masaba Masaba’, a Netflix India original series which is a fictionalised, semi-autobiographical account of Gupta’s life to date, including how she launched her eponymous fashion brand. The series was directed by Sonam Nair and launched on August 28, 2021

Gupta will also star in an upcoming second series of Masaba Masaba which is set to launch this summer, the designer had announced on International Women’s Day. The second series of the show will follow Gupta as her brand grows in popularity and will again star Gupta’s mother, Neena Gupta, who is an actress by profession. 

Gupta is also gearing up to launch a beauty and personal care line for House of Masaba this summer. The designer aims to continue to expand her brand’s product selection to retail a comprehensive lifestyle offering.
