Delhi government to launch ‘Dilli Bazaar’ to help traders sell online

The government of Delhi has announced the launch of an e-commerce portal ‘Dilli Bazaar’ to help traders and retailers in the city sell their products online to customers in India and abroad.

The Dilli Bazaar will support both direct-to-consumer, business-to-business ventures, and start-ups. Local businesses will get heavy promotion on the portal.
 
The portal will also have virtual markets where people can go through shops, identify products of their choice and buy them. It will also host virtual exhibitions.

“Delhi entrepreneurs will soon have their e-marketplace, Dilli Bazaar, where every small and big entrepreneur will have their e-commerce store. Dilli Bazaar will be a state-of-the-art pathbreaking portal that will give a global online identity to entrepreneurs of Delhi and through the portal, shoppers will be able to go on virtual walkthroughs of Delhi’s markets, buy any product they like from their home itself,” Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said.
 
“Delhi’s GDP, tax revenues, and economic activities will see a monumental rise after the launch of Dilli Bazaar portal; global business will come to Delhi,” Kejriwal added.
 
The Dilli Bazaar portal encompassing all famous shops and their products is expected to be ready by August next year.
